Sheikh Mohammed Spotted Touring Dubai’s Transformed J1 Beach
Formerly known as La Mer, J1 Beach has undergone a major transformation, emerging as a hub for world-class dining and leisure.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was recently seen exploring J1 Beach, the city’s latest luxury beachfront destination. Formerly known as La Mer, J1 Beach has undergone a major transformation, emerging as a hub for world-class dining and leisure with 13 restaurants and beach clubs, including the soon-to-open world’s largest beach club.
Sheikh Mohammed’s visit included stops at some of J1 Beach’s standout venues, starting with Gigi Rigolatto, a St. Tropez-inspired hotspot that opened last month. Known for its chic Mediterranean vibe, Gigi features an Italian restaurant, a Bellini bar, private beach and pool access, and family-friendly activities like pétanque courts and a kids’ club called Gigi Circus.
His tour continued at Bâoli, a glamorous import from Cannes. This expansive 2,000-square-metre venue offers high-end Asian-inspired cuisine, a poolside retreat, a petal-shaped sun deck, and a sunset lounge.
