Adidas Launches Adizero Desert Runner Collection in the UAE
The Sharjah desert became a canvas for this regionally exclusive release.
Adidas has unveiled the Adizero Desert Runner collection, a limited-edition line inspired by the Arabian desert’s landscapes. Combining performance with purpose, the sneakers are designed for runners at every level, featuring a lightweight build and a color palette reminiscent of golden dunes and blue oases.
“The desert represents boundless potential and discovery,” says Bilal Fares, senior vice president and general manager of Adidas EMC. “The Adizero Desert Runner is designed to mirror that spirit—durable, adaptable, and encouraging runners.”
To mark the launch, Adidas collaborated with American artist David Popa for an art installation in Sharjah’s Al Madam desert. Known for his earth murals that integrate seamlessly with their surroundings, Popa created a 100-meter-wide anamorphic artwork that turned the desert into a striking visual experience.
Constructed over eight days with the help of a team and sustainable materials, Popa’s mural reflects the connection between human ambition and the natural world.
