Egyptian Popstar Amr Diab Referred to Court for Slapping Incident
Earlier in June, Diab’s legal team had filed a complaint against the same individual for harassment.
Egyptian artist Amr Diab has been officially referred to the Misdemeanor Court by the New Cairo Prosecution following an incident in June where he slapped a young man during a private concert at a wedding in Cairo. The case stems from an altercation in which the individual attempted to take a photo with Diab, resulting in the artist slapping him in front of the audience.
The young man involved provided testimony during the investigation, stating that while he was taking a picture with Diab, the singer slapped him across the face and reprimanded him publicly. This led to formal legal action and the prosecution’s decision to move the case to court.
Earlier in June, Diab’s legal team had filed a complaint against the same individual for harassment during a wedding event in Cairo. According to Diab’s lawyer, the individual approached the artist from behind, forcefully raising a mobile phone to take a photo without permission.
