32 Saudi films are scheduled to be featured at this year’s festival beginning on December 5th.
Since its inception, the Red Sea Film Festival has been dedicated to supporting and showcasing Saudi cinema. This year continues that tradition, with 32 Saudi films set to be featured in the RSIFF’s fourth edition scheduled to run from December 5th to 14th, including 22 short films and 10 feature-length productions.
“When selecting the films, it was important to prioritize stories directed toward Jeddah and the Kingdom’s audience” explained Antoine Khalife, Director of Arab Programs & Film Classics at the RSIFF during the press conference to unveil the programme of this year’s festival. “We want the local audience in theaters.”In addition to its focus on Saudi cinema, the festival remains committed to celebrating films from across the Arab world. Khalife noted that this year’s festival would place special emphasis on Egyptian cinema, with Egyptian filmmakers represented in nearly every category. The festival will also include a curated program showcasing classic Egyptian films.
