In a tribute to one of the MENA region’s most revered artists, Anghami has launched a campaign titled ‘Fayrouz: A Golden Legacy’ to honour Fayrouz on her 90th birthday. Often referred to as the "Soul of Lebanon" and “The Ambassador of the Stars,” Fayrouz’s contributions to music, theatre and cinema have left an indelible mark on Arab culture.

Born Nouhad Wadie Haddad in 1934, Fayrouz rose to fame through her collaborations with the Rahbani brothers, blending traditional Lebanese music with modern orchestral elements. Her work has been celebrated for its poetic depth and innovation, including songs that resonate with themes of love, nostalgia and unity.

Anghami’s campaign highlights her legacy through exclusive playlists, a dedicated app section, and content celebrating her work. It also showcases her collaborations with prominent Arab poets and composers like Ziad Rahbani, Nizar Qabbani and Mohammed Abdel Wahab, as well as her groundbreaking fusion of classical Lebanese and global musical styles such as jazz and pop.

The initiative extends beyond music, featuring tributes to her theatrical and cinematic performances, including iconic appearances at the Roman Baalbek Theater and the Damascus International Fair. Fayrouz’s songs, dedicated to Arab cities and cultures, have become timeless symbols of regional pride and identity.

Anghami’s initiative hopes to ensure that Fayrouz’s artistry continues to inspire and connect audiences globally, further solidifying her status as a unifying figure in Arab culture and beyond.
