The Ministry of Education has issued a directive requiring all private schools to apply the minimum wage for teachers. This mandate, which includes international schools and institutions with specialised curricula, is set to ensure uniform compensation across the private sector.
The decision follows instructions from Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif and is in line with the National Wages Council’s Decision No. 27 of 2024. Under this policy, the minimum wage for the private sector is set at EGP 6,000. This figure includes the employer’s contribution to social insurance, as outlined in the Labor Law.
