Verse of the Month | October

Hleem delivers a killer verse loaded with clever metaphors and fresh rhyme schemes on ‘Hanak Beesh’ featuring Dafencii.

Omar Ghonem

Each month, we handpick some of our favorite rap verses, curating a selection that highlights the technical skill, performance, and lyrical quality of each verse. But starting this month, we’ll be spotlighting only one verse - and it has to be a killer one, meeting every standard.

For this month, after sifting through numerous hip-hop releases, our choice landed on Hleem Taj Alser’s verse from his recently released single ‘Hanak Beesh’ featuring fellow Sudanese rapper Dafencii. On this track, Hleem truly snapped, delivering a killer verse loaded with clever metaphors, fresh rhyme schemes, unique references, and a smooth, melodic flow that shifts gears every few bars. The verse displays Hleem’s honed craft and signature style and delivery while dropping pure lyrical gold.

In this verse, Hleem claims his position at the top with confidence, inviting his peers to watch and learn as he delivers double entendres and clever wordplay in carefully structured bars.

حديد مضلّع يا نيغز 8 بست

حرقنا الدوله ومطاره و وقعنا الـSystem

فوضى و ودوكو و قرصنه زي ما ورّيتكم

شايفك اسد في الميديا زي اللبوه في شارع بيتكم

(Reinforced steel, 8 pistons,

We burned the state and its airport, brought down the system.

Chaos, paint, and hacking, just like I showed you.

I see you acting like a lion in the media, but like a lioness on your own street.)

Hleem flexes his skill, affirming his hard-earned place at the top, paying homage to his early days and the environment that shaped him into what he calls the “king of the Middle East.”
