Cairo Airport Taxis to be Organised With Smart App Trial in November
Cairo’s taxi system at the airport is set for improvement with a trial run.
Cairo International Airport is set to trial a new smartphone app that is aimed at improving taxi coordination on November 15th.
The initiative comes after discussions held by the Tourism and Civil Aviation Committee regarding the lack of a structured taxi system at the airport. The committee emphasised the importance of organising the taxi services in front of the airport to ensure a more positive experience for travellers arriving in Cairo. It was noted that the first impression visitors receive upon arrival - largely shaped by the appearance and organisation of airport taxis - has a significant impact on their view of the country.
The trial run of the app will involve 23 limousine companies and 400 cars, utilising a barcode system to manage taxi coordination and eliminate the need for human intervention in the process.
