Cairene singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kiiko has been a promising talent in the alternative music scene for some time, bringing a distinct approach to the genre. This was evident in his second EP ‘Altair’, released earlier this year, which demonstrated significant artistic growth and maturity.

‘Strong Enough’ is the second single that the artist has just released after that EP, following his release of the first single, ‘Gifted Kid Burnout’. His new track expands on a sound Kiiko has been refining since his debut, becoming increasingly progressive in instrumentation and exploring darker, more intricate arrangements.

In this track, Kiiko’s lyrics delve even deeper into themes of introspection and melancholy. He questions himself, struggling to find acceptance and peace with his surroundings. His deeply personal lyrics offer a glimpse into the existential unease he’s experiencing.

“dreading the moment that my phone rings

dreading the notes that should’ve been played

dreading that it played out this way

dreading the lyrics that i will sing

dreading the pain how it would sting

dreading the pressure, the pull and the rain

im dreading the stress when seasons change “

Kiiko’s melancholic vocals convey these reflections against a somber musical backdrop, featuring serene yet bleak string chords that fade midway through the track. The second half shifts to a more energetic and layered arrangement, preserving the atmospheric tone while incorporating synthesizers and percussive elements with greater subtlety.

The single is accompanied by a music video that captures the song’s melancholic feel, presenting Kiiko in a black-and-white setting. Scenes depicting his inner world emphasize the introspective and existential themes he conveys through his lyrics.
