The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced expectations that 15 million tourists will visit Egypt by the end of 2024. This would mark a 5% increase in comparison to tourist arrivals to Egypt in 2023.
In 2023, a total of 14.9 million tourists were recorded to have visited Egypt, with the tourism sector making up to 24% of the country’s GDP , according to the World Travel and Tourism Council. By 2024, revenue from tourism in Egypt is projected to reach USD 5.172 billion, Statista forecasts.
Economy flights from China and Scandinavia are also expected to increase in the near future, further boosting tourism for Egypt.
