AlUla Trail Race 2025 to Challenge Runners Across Scenic Desert Dunes

The AlUla Trail Race 2025 is set to take place on January 23rd and the 24th, offering a unique challenge for adventure enthusiasts across the scenic landscapes of the historic city. Organised by AlUla Moments, the event will feature seven distinct races that showcase the landscapes of the area, including the iconic Elephant Rock, Maraya (the world’s largest mirrored building), and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hegra.The race offers options for runners of all skill levels. The Kids’ Run offers an introduction to running for children aged six to 12. The 3km Sunset Run gives participants aged 13 and older a chance to explore AlUla’s oasis as the sun sets. For those seeking a moderate challenge, the 10 km AlUla Oasis race is a perfect fit, while the Elephant Rock 23 km race caters to more experienced runners.Amongst the toughest races of the event is the 50 km Al-Mejdar for athletes aged 18 and older, designed to test endurance and skill. Finally, the 100 km Hegra ultra-marathon offers the ultimate challenge for seasoned athletes, pushing their physical limits through one of the most scenic and demanding courses in the region.On day one, participants will register, collect race equipment, and attend a briefing before the races begin. The first day will also feature family-friendly events and races after sunset. Day two will see the more challenging races - 10 km, 23 km and the ultra-marathon - culminating in an awards ceremony to honour the winners.
