A recently-released annual report by the Digital Government Authority (DGA) showcases the increased capacity of government agencies to embrace emerging technologies in 2024, in order to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

The report shows progress across various fields of emergent technology adoption: research capability reached 72.04%, communication capability reached 71.88%, integration reached 67.93%, and proof capability reached 70.84%. These statistics in particular demonstrate advanced levels of industrial development in the past year.

In addition, the performance index for government agencies in Emerging Technologies Adoption has seen an improvement of 10%, climbing from 60.35% to 70.70% in 2024. This increase has been accompanied by a significant and parallel rise in the number of participating agencies since last year, from 13 to 35.

The report also highlights how new and emergent technologies have led to advancements in several fields. For example, drones have led to vastly improved aerial photography and efficient real estate imaging, in turn leading to an 80% increase in performance index, while simultaneously reducing time and energy spent.

The digital twinning of industrial cities has enabled accurate asset inventory for 22 out of 36 industrial cities. The Anaam Shain app has facilitated secure management of livestock data, while firefighting robots have reduced human losses by up to 50%.
