UAE-Based Web3 Provider U-topia Secures $850,000 From GDA Capital
U-topia combines global intellectual property licensing in GameFi, AI music, and video entertainment with NFT provenance.
GDA Capital, a North America-based blockchain firm, is investing $850,000 in U-topia, a UAE-based Web3 provider focusing on blockchain-based intellectual property licensing. As part of the deal, GDA Capital executives will join U-topia's team as advisors.
U-topia combines global intellectual property licensing in GameFi, AI music, and video entertainment with NFT provenance. They use content from professional sports teams and video game IPs like Bandai Namco, along with rewards from major retailers like Amazon and Apple, as well as NFT collections. These are integrated into entertainment products like video games and music.
"U-topia is excited to champion the next era of IP content in our entertainment products that leverage the latest in technology and AI,” Emmanuel Quezada, CEO of U-topia, tells StartupScene. “While producing engaging and exciting entertainment products for the next generation of fans, we are equally excited to realise our vision of a compliant Web3 wallet for users aged 13 and over.”
U-topia aims to make digital ownership mainstream, appealing not just to Web3 enthusiasts but also to Gen Z. Their partnership with GDA Capital hopes to fuel international growth and technology development.
