US Company Lionsbridge to Build Phosphoric Acid Factory in Egypt
The factory will be producing 350,000 tons of phosphoric acid in the first phase, and double that by the second phase.
US company Lionsbridge, a subsidiary of the construction services firm Wesson Group, has revealed plans to construct a phosphoric acid production factory near Egypt’s Abu Tartour port in Safaga. Investment in the project has reportedly reached around USD 3 billion.
The project will be implemented in a number of phases, with the first phase bringing the factory’s annual production capacity up to 350,000 tonnes, equal to USD 395 million worth of investment.
In the second phase, the production capacity will be doubled to 700,000 tonnes of phosphoric acid, and the factory will aim to produce an additional 500,000 tonnes of sulphuric acid annually.
