The Egyptian government has announced the resolution of the recent drug shortage crisis, which had significantly impacted the local market. Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that the government, in coordination with health authorities, has successfully overcome the issue, with over 95% of the shortages now addressed.

Speaking at a press conference following the weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Madbouly said: "We held a meeting this week with Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, as well as the heads of the Unified Procurement Authority and the Drug Authority. Thankfully, we are closely monitoring the situation, and I can confidently say that the crisis is behind us.”

The Prime Minister further explained that the situation has returned to pre-crisis levels, although minor shortages of one or two medications might still occur, as was the case prior to the crisis.
