Two New Salik Toll Gates to Launch in Dubai on November 24th
The new gates will be located at the Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Salik PJSC has announced the addition of two new toll gates set to go live on Sunday, November 24th. Located at the Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road, these new gates will increase Dubai’s toll network from eight to 10, aiming to improve traffic distribution and streamline road usage across high-congestion areas.
The new toll gates are anticipated to significantly reduce congestion along some of Dubai’s busiest routes. The Business Bay Crossing gate is expected to decrease traffic volume by 12-15% on Al Khail Road and 10-16% on Al Rabat Street. Likewise, the Al Safa South gate will reduce right-turn traffic volume from Sheikh Zayed Road to Meydan Street by 15%, while enhancing connectivity between Financial Center Street and Meydan Street. These measures are designed to direct traffic towards less congested routes like First Al Khail Street and Al Asayel Street, providing smoother travel experiences for daily commuters and supporting the broader goal of optimizing Dubai’s transport infrastructure.
A notable aspect of the new gates is their environmental consideration: both the Business Bay and Al Safa South gates will operate using nearly 100% solar power. This marks the first time Salik has incorporated renewable energy on this scale, setting a precedent for future infrastructure projects across the city.
