RTA’s USD 163 Million Road Project to Ease Traffic Across Dubai
Dubai RTA's USD 163 million project will ease traffic in Zabeel, Al Jaddaf and Oud Metha.
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a major development project aimed at improving traffic conditions in Zabeel, Al Jaddaf and Oud Metha. The USD 163 million initiative, part of the Sheikh Rashid Corridor Development Project, was awarded to enhance infrastructure in response to urban growth.
Directed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the project will serve key areas, including Umm Hurair and Latifa Hospital, and is expected to accommodate over 420,000 people by 2030.
The project will feature four new intersections and improvements to Oud Metha and Al Asayel Streets. Notable enhancements include increasing the capacity of Oud Metha Street from 10,400 to 15,600 vehicles per hour and significantly reducing travel time from 20 minutes to just 5 minutes.
The initiative follows previous projects, such as the upgrade of Ras Al Khor Road, which improved capacity and reduced travel times to meet the needs of its growing population.
