Ministry of Health Increases Vaccination Fees for Travellers

The new fees will apply to the vaccines for meningitis, cholera, yellow fever, and seasonal flu.

The Ministry of Health and Population has announced an increase in vaccination fees for travellers, effective Sunday, December 1st. The Preventive Medicine Department issued new guidelines to raise the prices for several vaccines required for international travel, citing increased supply costs as the primary reason for the adjustment.

Approved by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, the new fees will apply to the vaccines for meningitis, which will now cost EGP 800, cholera at EGP 360, yellow fever at EGP 1,250, and seasonal flu at EGP 260. These updated charges are aimed solely at immunisations for outbound travellers.

While the price increase reflects the rising costs associated with the procurement of these vaccines, the Ministry emphasised that all routine and mandatory vaccinations remain free of charge for citizens.
