FIFA Evaluation Ranks Saudi Bid Highest in World Cup History
The announcement comes ahead of FIFA's final December 11th decision on which nation will host the 2030 and 2034 World Cup.
Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034 received 419.8 out of 500 in FIFA’s Bid Evaluation Report, the highest score in the tournament’s history. The announcement comes ahead of the final decision on the host countries for the 2030 and 2034 World Cups on December 11th.
The Saudi bid outlines plans for matches across 15 stadiums in five cities - Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha and NEOM - as well as 10 additional locations. Backed by the leadership of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the proposal emphasises sustainability, infrastructure, and cultural diversity.
HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sport, credited the score to coordinated national efforts and Vision 2030’s goals while President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation Yasser Al-Misehal emphasised the bid’s commitment to delivering an organised and inclusive tournament experience for participants and fans.
