Khaled El-Enany, Egypt’s former Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, has been appointed as the United Nations Tourism Ambassador for Cultural Tourism.
A prominent Egyptologist and historian, El-Enany has played a pivotal role in promoting Egypt’s rich cultural heritage during his tenure as Minister from 2019 to 2022. El-Enany’s career spans academia, archaeology and government service, having previously served as the Director-General of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and being instrumental in securing funding for major projects such as the Grand Egyptian Museum.
