Licences of 36 Hajj Travel Agencies Revoked for Legal Violations
The travel agencies lost their licence due to the illegal procurement of Hajj visas during the 2024 season.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has revoked the licences of 36 travel agencies involved in illegal Hajj arrangements during the 2024 Hajj season.
These companies were involved in procuring illicit visas which were not in line with the regulated Hajj visas issued by Saudi authorities. The ministry has further urged citizens looking to perform the Hajj in future to procure the correct paperwork through legal channels.
During the 2024 Hajj season, around 680 Egyptian citizens succumbed to heat exhaustion with many more reported missing. The government subsequently revoked the licences of 16 Hajj agencies for violating legal rules regarding the procurement of Hajj visas.
