Curtains Rise for Cairo Opera House’s Summer Festival on July 18th

The Summer Festival will run until August 10th, and will include concerts in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhour.

The Cairo Opera House will launch its Summer Festival on July 18th, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. Running until August 10th, the festival’s events will include 18 performances across three stages in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhour.


The Cairo Opera House’s Open Theatre will host performances by the Talent Development Centre, a concert by the Alexandria Opera Orchestra and Strings Ensemble in partnership with Hany Shenouda, a performance by Nesma Mahgoub and her band, two nights celebrating Arabic music, as well as concert entitled ‘Sufism and Modernity’ presented by Fathi Salama, Sheikh Mahmoud El-Tohamy and his band.


The Alexandria Opera House’s Sayed Darwish Theatre will host four concerts: Reham Abdel Hakim accompanied by the Arab Music Ensemble, Nesma Mahgoub accompanied by her band, Marwa Nagy accompanied by the Arab Music Ensemble, and a concert by the Talent Development Centre.


The Damanhour Opera’s Theatre will host a concert by Hanan Madi and her band, Wael Al-Fashni and his band, Sheikh Mahmoud El-Tohamy and his band, Marwa Naji accompanied by the Arabic Music Band, and a concert by the Talent Development Centre.
