On this week’s edition of our rap release playlist, the SceneNoise team selected some of the best hip-hop releases from across the MENA region. Spanning various rap sub-genres, the playlist features everything from trap to IDM-infused cuts and hard-hitting bangers. This time, we’re spotlighting new music by Syrian artist Thawra, Marwan Pablo and Khaled Rossia.
Thawra’s latest release, 'Basira’, blends introspective lyricism with socially conscious commentary. The Syrian artist delivers personal bars over a minimalistic soundscape dominated by synthesizers and relaxed drums. The intimate delivery in the chorus contrasts with the bold verses, painting a vivid picture that highlights her unique perspective and lyrical prowess.
In ‘RHLFRÉ’, the second track from Marwan Pablo’s latest release ‘PRJKTBLUBEAM’, Marwan Pablo collaborates with Xander Ghost, delivering a slower-paced track that contrasts with the predominantly fast rhythms of the EP. Xander’s flow is mellow and laid-back, with a charismatic delivery that complements the track's relaxed tempo.
In his latest release, 'Giza Loca', Egyptian rapper Khaled Rossia enlists up-and-coming producers Mvrslino and Hellboy to create an electrifying trap banger. Khaled Rossia comes in at full force, showcasing his versatile flow switches and lyrical prowess, with raw, hard-hitting lyrics drawn from his personal experiences, balanced by melodic rap passages in the hooks.
