Egyptian Producer MMKN Debuts Arabic Lo-Fi Single ‘Sukoon’
MMKN tries to encapsulate his constant search for inner peace amidst the turbulent political current across the Arab world.
Egyptian up-and-coming multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer Malik Elmessiry, aka MMKN, debuts his Arabic Lo-fi single ‘Sukoon’.
Through soulful meditative melodies and poignant Arabic lyricism, the track sees Malik encapsulating his constant search for inner peace amidst the turbulent political currents across the Arab world.
The soul-stirring guitar arrangements, low-tempo drum patterns and minor piano notes with neoclassical influences beautifully engulf the gospel-like vocals, weaving a compelling sonic narrative for connection and collective healing of humanity.
Besides producing tracks for his sister, who happens to be Egyptian rapper Felukah, MMKN has also worked with other rising regional artists like Yosr, aka Kalam. His production often blends sounds rooted in SWANA culture with electronic synths.
