Surf Abu Dhabi, the world’s largest wave pool, has officially opened its doors to the public, marking a significant milestone in the UAE’s surfing landscape. Originally announced in 2019 as a project backed by surfing legend Kelly Slater, the facility is now ready to welcome wave riders looking to experience its cutting-edge technology and engineered waves.
Surf Abu Dhabi offers four distinct wave options for surfers of various skill levels, catering to both beginners and seasoned pros. An open surf session allows up to four surfers to share the pool, providing a unique opportunity to catch between 20 to 24 waves during a session. The price for this experience is set at AED 3,500 (approximately USD 1,000). For those seeking an exclusive experience, private rentals of the entire facility are also available, though pricing details have not been disclosed.
In addition to its appeal for recreational surfers, Surf Abu Dhabi has gained recognition within the competitive surfing community. It has been included in the World Surf League (WSL) Tour lineup, further elevating the venue’s status and attracting attention from top-tier surfers globally.
As interest in surfing continues to grow in the region, this state-of-the-art facility is poised to become a hub for surf culture and community engagement in the Emirates.
