'Il Gattopardo' Brings a Taste of the 1960s Italian Riviera to DIFC
Set to open December 7th, the Italian restaurant will feature decor and drinks inspired by films from the ‘La Dolce Vita’ era.
Set to open December 7th on the 51st floor of ICD Brookfield Place, Italian restaurant ‘Il Gattopardo’ draws inspiration from 1960s Italy and the acclaimed novel it’s named after (translated from Italian as ‘The Leopard’) by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa.
Designed by renowned interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, the restaurant features leopard patterns and clouded cathedral glass partitions that evoke the charm of classic Italian antique shops. Guests will be welcomed by an ornate leopard sculpture as they enter, leading to dining areas that offer breathtaking views of Dubai’s skyline, including the iconic Burj Khalifa. The interior also showcases artisan murals and Italian-inspired art, reflecting a rich heritage and the work of legendary architects like Gio Ponti and Carlo Scarpa.
The menu at ‘Il Gattopardo’ will highlight modern interpretations of classic Italian dishes, focusing on seasonal ingredients and local produce. Diners can indulge in a variety of antipasti, fresh pastas, and the restaurant's signature viral Tiramisu.
Cocktail enthusiasts will appreciate the bar's signature drinks inspired by films from the ‘La Dolce Vita’ era, such as the Seven Beauties. Curated by wine expert Vincent Pastorello, the wine list features over 450 selections, with a strong emphasis on Italian varieties, particularly from Piedmont and Tuscany.
For those seeking an exclusive experience, the private dining room named Sofia and the private lounge Gina—after Italian cinema legends Sofia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida—offer secluded spaces for intimate gatherings.
As night falls, guests can enjoy a lively atmosphere with a resident DJ spinning a mix of retro pop, swing, and classic hits, capturing the vibrant spirit of ‘La Dolce Vita.’
