WHO Partners With Saudi Arabia to Launch Hajj Health Card Initiative
This health tool allows travellers to conveniently share their health information with authorised medical providers.
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced a digital health collaboration with Saudi Arabia focused on a new health card initiative aimed at enhancing the experience for the millions of Muslims who undertake the Hajj pilgrimage each year.
The Hajj health card, developed as part of the WHO Global Digital Health Certification Network, serves as a secure digital tool for summarising vital health information. This card provides details on medication needs, allergies, immunisation status, and any pre-existing conditions of the approximately 3 million pilgrims who travel to the holy city of Makkah annually.
This health tool allows travellers to share their health information with authorised medical providers, ensuring they receive accurate, up-to-date summaries that facilitate personalised, high-quality healthcare throughout their pilgrimage.
