Saudi Arabia has recently increased its space activity and has been in talks about next-generation space stations. Elon Musk’s SpaceX has also recently been in collaboration with Riyadh to purchase astronaut spots from Axiom Space, a company which arranges and manages private space missions for researchers and tourists. This collaboration saw the first female Saudi astronaut Rayyanah Barnawi launch an eight-day space trip in May 2023.
