The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE) has announced new Hajj and Umrah regulations in the UAE to streamline the pilgrimage process and ensure the well-being of Emirati pilgrims. These changes include updated provisions for organizing pilgrimage campaigns, licensing processes, and penalties for violations.

Key rules include a AED 50,000 fine for unauthorized use of services and facilities designated for the UAE Hajj Affairs Office in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, obtaining a license from GAIAE is now mandatory before engaging in activities related to organizing Hajj or Umrah trips. This includes arranging, advertising, and soliciting participants, as well as collecting donations for these purposes.

The UAE Hajj Affairs Office, serving as the official state representative during the Hajj season, ensures service quality for UAE pilgrims, coordinates with Saudi authorities, and oversees operations of companies offering pilgrimage services.
