These Beaches Are the Most Googled in the Past Year
As it turns out, Egyptian vacationers summer plans this season have mostly pointed towards the Mediterranean.
In the pursuit of a summer escape Egyptians are spoiled for choice, between Alexandria, Port Said, Matrouh, Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, or any of the many coastal cities lining the country. So what do we do if we’re struck with choice paralysis on where to go for the summer? We turn to Google, naturally. Here are the most Googled Egyptian beaches over the past 12 months:
1. Marsa Matrouh Beaches
2. Rommel Beach, Marsa Matrouh
3. Al Fayrouz Beach, Ismailia
4. Fayed Beaches, Ismailia
5. Umm Al Rakham Beach, Marsa Matrouh
6. Ain Sokhna Beaches
7. Alexandria Beaches
8. Al Abiad Beach, Marsa Matrouh
9. Agiba Beach, Marsa Matrouh
Since the summer of 2023, Egyptian vacationers’ Google searches have been overwhelmingly Mediterranean. Travellers seem to have gotten back on the Marsa Matrouh train this season, with most searches varying across the crystal clear waters of the coastal city, and some reaching towards the underrated beaches of Ismailia.
Egyptians have also looked up the cities Cairo, Dahab, Alexandria and Sharm El Sheikh the most in the past 12 months. In terms of tourism-related topics, the most searched cities in the past year were Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor, Hurghada and Marsa Matrouh.
