Saudi Etaam Program Provides Food for Over 1 Million People Worldwide
Nearly 200,000 food baskets were provided to people from 18 different countries during Ramadan.
Over one million people have benefited from Saudi Arabia’s Ramadan Food Basket Distribution Program (Etaam) during this year’s holy month, receiving 195,583 baskets of essential food items from the King Salman Humanitarian and Relief Centre (KSRelief).
The Etaam program aims to address issues in food security by providing people with basic, non-perishable food items during the holy month of Ramadan, so that they are able to sustain themselves from Iftar to Suhoor. This year, KSRelief’s aid reached over one million beneficiaries in 18 different countries worldwide, alleviating difficulties in accessing food for many people living on the breadline.
Since its establishment in 2015, KSRelief has invested in nearly 3,000 humanitarian and relief projects, worth over USD 6 billion, targeting people’s vital needs such as food, shelter, health and education.
