Proposal Made for Global Humanitarian Aviation Council in Riyadh
The goal of the proposed council is ultimately to protect humanitarian aid transported via air.
Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre and former Minister of Health Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah has proposed the creation of a Global Humanitarian Aviation Council to enhance and safeguard air transport of humanitarian aid.
Announced during the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, Al Rabeeah emphasized the potential of the council’s role in uniting the aviation sector, humanitarian organizations, and governments. The council aims to ensure unrestricted airport access, air corridors, and refueling facilities for aid aircraft, while eliminating fees and taxes, and simplifying the aid delivery process. All council activities would be protected under international humanitarian law.
