Producer Rasha Asfour Launches 'Artists' Insurance' Initiative
This move is intended to safeguard the safety and rights of workers who might face harm or injury on set.
Egyptian producer Rasha Asfour launched the ‘Artists’ Insurance’ initiative for all involved employees in the production of her latest series ‘Azmet Theqa’, marking the first initiative of its kind in Egypt. Under the insurance contract, each worker is entitled to EGP 500,000 in cases of individual harm, with EGP three million available in cases of collective injury.
The initiative aims to provide financial support for all employees involved in the production, including photographers, videographers, ushers, actors, assistants, and anyone else involved in the filming process, in case of potential injury or accidents.
Asfour aims to popularize this initiative within the Egyptian entertainment industry, hoping it will be embraced by all production companies, whether for television series or films. This move is intended to safeguard the safety and rights of workers who might face harm or injury on set without insurance coverage.
The series ‘Azmet Theqa’ features a crew of over 100 employees, with stars including Hani Adel, Naglaa Badr, and Malak Ahmed Zaher. Written by Ahmed Sabry and directed by Wael Fahmy Abdelhamid, the series revolves around a thrilling crime. As its protagonists attempt to escape, they find themselves slipping into conflicts of betrayal and schemes across 15 episodes.
