Health & Tourism Authorities to Develop Medical Tourism in Dubai
The partnership will focus on attracting investments in pioneering healthcare projects, hosting major medical conferences, and more.
In a bid to solidify Dubai’s position as a world-class destination for healthcare services, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop medical tourism in Dubai and create a robust ecosystem that not only focuses on healthcare but also fuels growth in key sectors such as aviation, hospitality, and telecommunications.
The partnership will focus on attracting investments in pioneering healthcare projects, hosting major medical conferences, and elevating Dubai’s global reputation as a hub for quality healthcare and economic development.
In 2023, Dubai attracted 691,478 medical tourists, generating over AED one billion in direct healthcare revenues. Indirect revenues soared to over AED two billion, demonstrating the city's economic impact and its role as a leading medical tourism hub.
