Exhibition 'Etel Adnan: Between East & West' Takes Place in Dhahran
The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Sharjah Art Foundation, Sursock Museum, and Sfeir-Semler Gallery.
The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran is hosting an exhibition showcasing the works of the late Lebanese-American poet and artist Etel Adnan, titled ‘Etel Adnan: Between East & West’, until April 9th.
Born and raised in Lebanon, Adnan has achieved numerous milestones over her career, having published such renowned works as ‘Sit Marie Rose’ (1978), ‘Paris, When It’s Naked’ (1993), and ‘Moonshots’ (1996). Adnan’s most significant achievements can be seen in her deft amalgamation of poetry and art, specifically Arabic calligraphy, with artworks featuring visual interpretations of poems written by many great contemporary Arab poets she's grown fond of in her life.
Curated by Musee National Picasso-Paris’s Sebastien Delo, the exhibition is organized in collaboration with Sharjah Art Foundation, Sursock Museum and Sfeir-Semler Gallery.
