Dubai Ranks 1st in MENA & 5th Globally in 2024 Global City Index
Dubai outperformed major global cities for its reputation, infrastructure and growth potential, making it a leading investment destination with a top-three global ranking for corporate tax benefits.
Dubai has secured its position as the top city in the Middle East and Africa for the second consecutive year in the Global City Index 2024, as well as the fifth out of 100 cities worldwide. With a score of 86 out of 100, Dubai outperformed major global hubs such as Singapore, Los Angeles, Sydney, San Francisco and Amsterdam.
The report highlights Dubai’s strong reputation and expanding role in global markets, driven by a combination of economic strength, high-quality infrastructure, and initiatives promoting work opportunities and connectivity. Dubai achieved the highest global ranking for reputation and made notable progress in remote work opportunities, moving up from 24th to fourth place. Its stable economy and advantageous location between East and West position it as an attractive destination for investors, residents and businesses alike.
Among its achievements, Dubai ranks second globally as a city of significance and has been recognized for its ability to attract international investment and innovation. Supported by initiatives like the Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai has excelled in infrastructure and investment incentives, including a top-three global rank for corporate tax benefits.
Dubai’s strengths extend to education, where it achieved top rankings in both the ‘Great Private Schools’ and ‘Great Publicly Funded Schools’ indexes. In addition, the city earned high marks for local and international connectivity and ease of obtaining a visa.
Across the MENA region, Dubai outpaced other cities in key areas, including job opportunities, investment, quality of life, education, and tourism, establishing itself as a comprehensive leader in regional urban development.
