Two New Exhibitions Celebrate Religious Ties Between Egypt & Russia

The exhibitions celebrate the longstanding Islamic traditions shared by the two nations.

An exhibition titled ‘Russia-Egypt: Spiritual Relations Through the Ages’ was launched at Dar Al-Ifta. The exhibition aims to strengthen cultural exchange and highlight the longstanding Islamic traditions shared by both nations.

The event was inaugurated by the Grand Mufti of Egypt Shawki Allam, the Mufti of the Moscow region and Vice-President of the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation Roshan Abyasov, and the Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenki. The exhibition showcases traditional Russian handicrafts that depict Egypt and Russia’s rich cultural, historical, and religious ties.

A photography exhibition was also opened at the Russian Cultural Centre in Dokki entitled ‘Traditions of Islam in Russia’, which displays contemporary images of the activities of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia. Included in the exhibition is a famous photo of Vladimir Putin on a visit to the oldest mosque in Russia in the historic city of Derbent in Dagestan.

‘Russia-Egypt: Spiritual Relations Through the Ages’ will be open to the public until Monday, April 29th and the ‘Traditions of Islam’ will be on display until April 30th.
