Turki Alalshikh to Produce 14 Egyptian Films
This is part of a newly established 'Big Time' initiative supporting Saudi & Egyptian cinema.
Chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Turki Alalshikh, has signed an agreement to establish a fund with a budget of EGP four billion - with the potential to reach EGP 20 billion - to sponsor and support the production of Egyptian and Saudi films. This for-profit initiative is sponsored by GEA as the main sponsor, with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture serving as a co-sponsor.
The first film to receive approval for production within the inaugural season of the fund is 'Awlad Rizk 3.'
However, several other films have also been granted approval for production by the fund. Among them are 'El Set', a biopic about Umm Kulthum, starring Mona Zaki and directed by Marwan Hamed. Additionally, 'The Blue Elephant 3' featuring Karim Abdel Aziz, 'She'ar Cairo' starring Karim Abdel Aziz and Nancy Ajram, 'Lessa Hetta' starring Ahmed Helmy, and 'Ex-Meraty' starring Hisham Maged, Mohamed Mamdouh and Amina Khalil, have all received the fund's endorsement.
The list continues with 'Ferqet Mot' starring Ahmed Ezz, 'Rammah' starring Aser Yassin, 'Kouta' starring Karim Abdel Aziz, 'See'dy fi Al-Jame'a Al-Amrikiya 2' starring Mohamed Henedy, "Al Munajjem' starring Amr Youssef, and 'Al Bahth A'n Fadiha' starring Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz and Hannah Al Zahed.
The approved films cover a range of genres and feature renowned actors, promising a diverse and captivating cinematic landscape in the near future.
