Saudi artist Obaid AlSafi has been shortlisted for the Sigg Art Prize, organised by Saudi Arabia-based curator and art collector Pierre Sigg. The winner will be announced at a ceremony on October 10th at Asprey Studio in London.
Born in 1991, Riyadh-based artist's practice encompasses new media installations, video and data-generated projects, informed by his training in computer science and interest in artificial intelligence.
The Sigg award’s inaugural theme is ‘Future Desert’, which aims to redefine the boundaries of traditional art by encouraging artists from around the world to integrate artificial intelligence into their work.
