In light of the devastating bombardment of the Gaza Strip by Israeli occupation forces, Kairos, culture and design collective, is organising a two-day fundraising and cultural solidarity event ‘Our Palestine’ on November 30th and December 1st at Downtown Cairo’s Cinema Radio, from 12 PM to 8 PM.

‘Our Palestine’ will feature artworks, furniture, accessories and multiple other products for sale as well as an online auction featuring artworks and designs with the proceeds all going to aid organisations. In collaboration with the National Alliance for Civil Work, the event will have four donation booths available for charity groups Resala, Masr El Kheir, The Food Bank and Ahl Misr.

"We're trying to be proactive, and we know this is not enough but we’re trying to find a window where we can raise money for a good cause through leveraging Egyptian art and artists,” Mohamed Radwan, founder of Cairo Designathon, one of the event’s organisers, tells SceneNowEvents.

‘Our Palestine’ will be focusing on raising awareness by screening two films documenting Palestinian experiences and culture, as well as a panel discussion featuring Palestinian activists. More than 60 artists, designers and brands will be participating with their artworks and products, while holding art workshops throughout the event including Waleed Shah, Karim Mekhtigian, Shosha Kamel, Ämr Ezzeldinn, Noura Fakharani, and many more.
