President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced an increase in Egyptian health support to Palestinians in Gaza. This missive came in a meeting between Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouty, Minister of Justice Omar Marwan, and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar. Within this meeting, the President stressed the importance of involving the private sector in this endeavor.

This is one of the Egyptian government’s initiatives to provide aid to Gaza. On March 29th, the UAE and Egypt carried out their largest joint humanitarian airdrop since the start of the genocide, delivering a total of 90 tonnes of aid in a mission known as ‘Operation Birds of Goodness’. Within Egypt, many injured Palestinians and their families are confined to public hospitals, unable to set foot outside the facilities or accept visitors during the course of their treatment.

According to a recent report from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 32,782 Palestinians have been reported killed and 75,298 more have been injured since October 7th, 2023.
