Dubai Future Foundation Launches Grant to Boost Research in Dubai
Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launches the RDI Grant Initiative to fund research, boosting Dubai’s global innovation status.
Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), has announced the launch of the Dubai Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Grant Initiative. This new initiative aims to accelerate advancements in key economic sectors by funding innovative research projects.
As an extension of the Dubai Research and Development Program, which was introduced in September 2022, the RDI Grant Initiative is designed to bolster Dubai’s position as a global leader in scientific research and technological innovation. The DFF will oversee the initiative, setting up a strategic framework to manage and invest in research and development projects.
The initiative will focus on supporting up to 20 research projects in two primary sectors: Cognitive Cities and Health and Life Sciences. Key areas of interest include smart mobility, traffic management, and smart grids under cognitive cities, and precision medicine, preventive genetic sequencing, and cell-cultured foods within health and life sciences. Cross-cutting technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics systems will be integral to these research endeavors.
The Dubai Future Foundation will partner with local and international entities to bring these innovative projects to life, aligning with Dubai’s vision to harness scientific research for impactful accomplishments and positioning the city as a leader in future-ready innovation.
