Region’s First AI Virtual Lawyer to Launch in the UAE in 2025
The project will offer features such as real-time interaction with judges and streamlined submission of legal documents.
The Ministry of Justice, in partnership with the Office of Government Development and the Office of Artificial Intelligence, have announced the launch of the ‘Virtual Lawyer’ project, an initiative designed to transform the legal landscape through artificial intelligence. This project aims to assist legal institutions in developing pleadings for simple cases, thereby enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the justice sector.
Set to debut in 2025, it is the first project of its kind in the UAE and the wider region. It will utilise a unified national database of legislative texts created by the Ministry of Justice, and law firms interested in using the system will contribute to this database after registering with the ministry.
In its initial phase, the Virtual Lawyer will support lawyers by offering features such as real-time interaction with judges, voice-to-text capabilities, and streamlined submission of legal documents. The Ministry of Justice has emphasised the project's role in modernising judicial processes and improving the customer experience, aligning with best international practices.
