One of very few women behind the wheels of the third line of the Cairo Metro - the only line of the metro with women behind the wheels - Hend Adel’s chosen path was not one so easily accepted by her peers, friends and family. And yet, that did not deter her. With a penchant for window seats and the views that come with them since her youth, Adel now has the most exclusive seat in the vehicle: the captain’s.
We caught up with Adel on a sunny day, during which she shared her story as we enjoyed a rare view from the driver’s compartment.
