Pregnant Women & Sick Pilgrims Banned from Performing Hajj in 2025
The strict health restrictions were announced in an advisory notice sent to Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued strict health restrictions for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
In a health advisory sent to Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Saudi government stated that individuals with major health conditions, including cancer, dementia, and infectious diseases, will not be permitted to participate in the pilgrimage. Additionally, children under 12 years old and pregnant women will also be excluded.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs reported that the Saudi notice requires pilgrims to receive vaccinations for diseases such as meningitis, COVID-19, seasonal influenza, and polio.
These preventive measures are being implemented to protect pilgrims following the tragic deaths of over 1,300 pilgrims this year due to harsh weather conditions.
