12 UAE Universities Ranked in Global Top 1,000 by QS World Rankings
Of those 12 Emirati universities, six were ranked within the QS rankings’ top 500.
Twelve Emirati universities have ranked in the top 1,000 of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. Six of these universities were ranked in the top 500, while three were included in the top 300.
The highest ranked Emirati higher education institution was Khalifa University, which ranked 202nd in the world. Also in the top 300 was the United Arab Emirates University at 261st.
The UAE’s top ranked universities include institutions from across six Emirates, including the American University of Sharjah (332nd), Ajman University (477th), American University of Ras Al Khaimah (485th), Abu Dhabi University (501st), Canadian University in Dubai (523rd) and Al Ain University (552nd).
Universities are ranked by QS on myriad criteria, including employability of students, sustainability, and quality of research. This year's results were based on 17.5 million academic papers, and expert opinions from more than 240,000 faculty members and employers.
