The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) will begin trial operations for its main galleries on October 16th, 2024, giving visitors a first look at 12 exhibition halls. This phase is part of GEM's preparations for its official opening, offering an exclusive experience that spans millennia of history, from prehistoric times to the Roman era.

The main galleries are divided into three themes - kingship, society and beliefs - showcasing Egypt’s cultural evolution. Visitors can explore ancient Egyptian artefacts either chronologically or thematically, witnessing the relationship between kings, subjects and gods over the years.

While the Tutankhamun Galleries remain closed, guests can still access the children’s museum, outdoor gardens and GEM’s commercial area. The museum remains in its trial phase.
