Red Sea Labs, part of the Red Sea Film Foundation, has announced the opening of registrations for the sixth edition of its Lodge training program. Sponsored by Film AlUla and in partnership with the Torino Film Lab, this annual residency program supports aspiring filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab region, Asia and Africa by refining their skills.

The Lodge guides participants through every stage of film development, from conception to realisation. Over the course of the program, filmmakers will attend five intensive workshops throughout the year. The first workshop is dedicated to Saudi participants, while the remaining sessions are open to all filmmakers.

The workshops led by renowned industry experts, focus on essential industry skills such as production, creative development, financing, sales, pitching and marketing. Winning applications will also be able to develop their skills in cinematography, directing, editing, sound design and more.

Applications for Saudi projects are open until November 7th, 2024, while submissions for non-Saudi Arab, African and Asian projects will be accepted until December 15th. Participants will have the chance to pitch their projects to industry professionals at the upcoming Red Sea Souk during the Red Sea International Film Festival

Winners will be announced at the 5th edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in 2025, receiving cash prizes to further support their filmmaking journeys. For more information about The Lodge program, you can visit the Red Sea Film Festival website.
