Egyptian Designer Pacinthe Badran’s Miss PB is an Ode to Femininity

With the new label’s debut ‘Coquette’ collection, Badran pays tribute to iconic women through tulle and pastel hues.

What do Aretha Franklin, Audrey Hepburn, and Diana, Princess of Wales, have in common? Well, other than the fact that they are timeless icons, they are amongst some of the muses behind Egyptian designer Pacinthe Badran’s debut ‘Coquette’ collection for her latest brand: Miss PB.

Carrying within their seams the signature Pacinthe Badran DNA and identity, each piece within Egyptian couture and bridal designer Pacinthe Badran’s Miss PB debut collection is an ode to femininity through intricate corsetry details, volumes of tulle and organza, and dramatic draping. And yet unlike Badran’s usual sartorial endeavors, Miss PB is perhaps a light take on the designer’s couture selections, offering ready to wear pieces that are sophisticated and classy, but designed for fun and casual everyday wear.

Focusing on versatile statement pieces that can be styled from day to evening, Miss PB aims to make women feel both playfully coy yet confident in their own skin, just as these muses exuded confidence and femininity, so does Pacinthe Badran hope for those who don pieces from the ‘Coquette’ collection.

“Nowadays people are looking for practical couture, pieces that could be styled in so many different ways,” Badran shares in a virtual exchange with SceneStyled. “I wanted to give girls something they could have fun with. Something playful, yet classy.”

The idea for Badran’s latest brand came to be at Dubai Fashion Week - when Badran sought to put together something fit for a day’s excursion at Dubai’s Design District, she put together one of her own corsets with a pair of jeans. When attention and compliments ensued, Badran just knew what to do.

Now launching with a series of corsets - each named after a woman who embodies the flirtatious yet empowered spirit of the collection - the ‘Coquette’ collection offers Badran’s couture-inspired sensibilities through pieces made for the modern woman. Pastel hues, intricate embroidery, swirls of tulle and organza in tow, each piece is one that’ll turn heads left and right, handcrafted with love. “They’re my babies,” Badran jokes.

Now on display at Maison 69, you can shop the collection at the Garden 8 hotspot, or through the designer’s website.
