GCC Residents Eligible for New 30-Day Extension on UAE E-Visa
GCC residents can now extend their UAE e-visa for another 30 days without leaving the country, under specific conditions.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) residents can now extend their UAE e-visas for an additional 30 days, a change from the previous rule requiring expats to leave the country and reapply for entry.
The UAE Digital Government announced the update, allowing residents of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar to easily extend their stay. Applications can be processed online through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) or smart channels of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP).
However, specific rules apply: expats must ensure their residency remains valid for at least one year, and their passports for six months, upon arrival. Entry can be denied if their profession changes after receiving the entry permit. Additionally, GCC expats must travel with their sponsor for the visa to be approved. Applicants can complete the process online by submitting personal details, paying a AED 250 fee, and receiving the e-visa via email once approved.
